PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Madison Park Elementary School
“We Enter to Learn and Leave to Succeed”
I am pleased to welcome all families to Madison Park for the 24-25 School year.
As you may know, Madison Park School is a National School of Character. Character Education, service learning, inclusion, and equity programs are embedded in our daily culture. This learning environment allows our students to demonstrate their citizenship and leadership skills and reflect as the school year progresses.
Our school has a diverse population with over 290 students who reside in Madison Park, Brewster Circle, Cedarview Estates, London Terrace, Madison Gardens, Springfield Village and the Oaks at Glenwood.
Students receive instruction in the academic areas of literacy, reading and language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, and health. In addition, they attend classes in art, music, physical education, computers, and world language. Technology is integrated into the overall curriculum using individual student devices. Elementary Curriculum Overview Auxiliary programs include Resource, Intervention Title I, and Multilingual Learners.
The Common Core Curriculum Standards that are reflected in Board adopted curriculum guides define the academic program. The curriculum is also available on the district website for your review. The programs are continually reviewed to ensure they meet changing goals and standards. The staff at Madison Park School is actively involved in Professional Learning Communities (PLC’s). PLC’s allow the staff at our school to play an active role in planning the best instructional practices for the diversified needs of our students.
Various special projects and activities enrich course content at each grade level. Grade-level school activities include local field trips and cultural arts assemblies. Children also have an opportunity to participate in extra-curricular activities, including Student Council, Play Unified, Instrumental Band, and Intramurals. Special programs such as Child Assault Prevention, LEAD, Fire Prevention assemblies, and other activities expose students to areas outside of the immediate school community.
Madison Park School provides a student-centered environment where children are taught to recognize the importance of self-esteem and to demonstrate respect for others. They encounter a wide variety of experiences that encourage both individual initiative and cooperative learning.
The active PTA supports many student activities, including field trips, assemblies, fundraisers, and school beautification projects. We are environmentally friendly and communicate via email, the school website, and the Parent Portal. Parents are encouraged to utilize the school website to keep abreast of important school information that is continuously updated throughout the year.
