Ellen McDermott Grade Nine Center

On September 5, 2012 the Old Bridge Grade Nine Center was formally renamed the Ellen McDermott Grade Nine Center in honor of Ellen McDermott, the longest serving Board of Education Member (40 years) in the State of NJ.

Located at the entrance of the Old Bridge High School campus along Route 516 in Matawan, the former Carl Sandburg Middle School and OBHS 9th Grade annex, now the Ellen McDermott Grade Nine Center, was established around the concept of a small learning community. Teachers work in a collaborative setting and are committed to the education of the students they share.
